Computer Science (CS) Community & School Events

"Do You Want To Think Like A Computer Scientist?" events. These 2-3 hour events are hosted by Wyoming schools either a Saturday, during school or after school. These events are geared to promoting CS within communities. The event includes various activities such as: Coding, Computer Simulations, Computer Science Unplugged, Virtual Reality, and Makey Makey's. Students rotate between stations every 15-20 minutes. Students are given a group color upon check in and rotate based on their group color. Supplies for these events are provided to schools. Administrators, teachers, parents and students are encourages to take part.

Wyoming Teacher CS Professional Development Workshops

WyoCSZone initiative conducts training workshops and summer camps for teachers and students. These workshops cover Computer Science (CS) concepts, as well as, Geographical Information Systems (GIS). They can be individual training workshops or tied into the district Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) training. These summer camps introduce students to CS concepts designed to be fun and educational. Users can learn about principles for game design, mobility and connections to computer programming. We team up with the Board of Cooperative Educational Serivces (BOCES) to implement these camps in various districts throughout Wyoming.
